In addition to the General Contest Rules, the following rules apply specifically to the Entertainment Showcase Division:
1.
Entry blank must be completed and entry fee paid before participation. This division is limited to the first ten (10) acts that register.
2.
Fiddle Committee officials will randomly select numbers for all contestants for order of appearance. Contestant order will be posted one half hour before the division begins and the contestant must be ready to play when called.
3.
Contestants must play acoustic instruments.
4.
Contestants may sing portions of the tune if so desired. However, the major focus of this division is on instrumental music, not on vocal music.
5.
This contest is limited to one tune, although a medley is acceptable.
6.
Total time on stage is limited to four minutes. The time starts when the contestant or his/her accompanists step on stage and ends when they step off stage. This includes setting up any props as well as the playing time for the tune/medley.
7.
There will be one microphone set-up, a copy of which will be available to all contestants at the registration table. In the interests of keeping the contest moving (and the audience interested), you may not re-arrange the microphones, but you may tell the stage manager which microphones you want turned on or off.
8.
Contestants may use as many accompanists as they wish. Remember the time limit, and please have all of the accompanists ready to go on stage when the contestant is announced.
9.
There will be “Celebrity Judges” for this event, seated in the audience and will be heavily influenced by audience response.
10.
Judging criteria, in addition to audience response, will include for a total of 100 points:
Stage Presence
Costumes
Entertainment
Musicianship
Overall Presentation
