Liddy Voetberg

One of ten musical children, 22 year old Liddy Voetberg began singing as a toddler, started classical piano lessons with Linda Fast at age seven and, at the age of ten, began fiddle lessons with Margaret Brank. Starting classical voice lessons in middle school, Liddy — as 7th and 8th grader — won twice the High School Washington State Music Teachers’ Association District Vocal and Instrumental Competition. Also continuing in her classical piano education, Liddy — under the tutelage of Robin Chadwick — won the title of 2007 Piano Representative to the Washington State Music Teachers’ Association Convention. Continuing to perform with her family band, Liddy also competed in fiddle contests, growing in her fiddling ability under the mentorship of Grand National Fiddle Champion Rudi Booher, Grand National and Grand Master Fiddle Champions Tashina and Tristan Clarridge and Grand National Scottish Fiddle Champion Hanneke Cassel. During this time, Liddy won the titles of Western Open Junior Fiddle Champion, Northwest Regional Junior Fiddle Champion and, in 2007, the title of National Young Adult Fiddle Champion.
